CULTURE: Workout Playlist

Balancing: hard core rap and pop girl anthems

Nothing motivates me more during a workout than a killer playlist.

The only way I can stay on track or focus is with a steady beat in the background. I’ve been known for my bi-polar taste in music. One moment I can be blasting hard core rap, and the next I will be crying along with Sam Smith. I keep saying its all about balance, so I guess my workout playlist qualifies too right?

If the song has a good beat for me to keep tempo with, and makes me want to move I hit add quick quick.

I usually start with Apple Music Playlists and just add what I like. My taste does change based on what kind of a plan I have for the gym, but I stick to low impact training and weight lifting. If I’m going to torture myself and do cardio, I have to listen to Punk Rock or Hard Scremo music (not kidding I literally need someone screaming in my ears in order for me to run). For my normal workouts some of my favorite Apple Music playlists to work out to are:

  • Pure Workout: Apple Music
  • Cardio Sweat: SWEAT
  • Intense Sweat: SWEAT
  • Pumped Up: Victorias Secret (BC who doesn’t want to work out to what the Angels work out too)
  • Hip-Hop Workout: Apple Music Hip Hop

I was never really an electronic or an EDM person with the fluffy boots and rave’s or whatever, but the music is TOO good!! Check out below for my current music suggestions, and let me know what your favorite songs are to work out to!
